A New Fixed Acrylic Bite Plane for Deep Bite Correction
March 2011
An anterior deep bite could be caused by supraeruption of upper and / or lower incisors or infraeruption of posterior teeth. To evaluate whether infraeruption or supraeruption is present, the orthodontist must use linear measurements from the base of the alveolar process. The amount of eruption anteriorly or posteriorly can be established by Cephalometric analysis.
Transmigration of mandibular canines- 2 case reports and review of literature.
March 2011
An unerupted tooth sometimes migrates to a location a little distance away from the site in which it developed, but it usually remains within the same side of the arch. The mandibular permanent canine is the only tooth in the dental arch reported to migrate across the midline. Javid found one such case in 1000 students. In doing so, the tooth usually travels along the labial side of the incisor roots and migrates as far as the roots of the first molar on the opposite side.
Simple “TRS” Auxiliary Tube for Segmental T Loop
March 2011
The T loop space closure spring is used in the segmental arch technique, developed by Burstone1. The segmental Tloop is one of the more versatile space closure devices available2. The bracket prescription given by Burstone provides a vertical slot in the canine brackets for segmental T loop placement, but using segmental T loops with other bracket systems needs an attachment, which may become a financial burden for the clinician, as well as additional material in his/her inventory.
Comparative Evaluation of Shear Bond Strength and Site of Bond Failures Between Microfilled and Nanofilled Composite Resins Cured Under LED and Conventional Light Cured Systems
March 2011
This study was undertaken to compare shear bond strength of nanofilled composite (Filtek Supreme Z 350) and microfilled composite (Enlight Ormco) to orthodontic attachments cured by both halogen (HILUX) and LED (Bloo Accordis) light cure units.
