Orthodontic Instructor

UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA AT BIRMINGHAM

The Department of Orthodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham invites applications for a
full-time regular instructor, non-tenure earning, research track faculty position. Responsibilities include
teaching human growth and development, cell biology, and research methodology to pre-doctoral and
post-doctoral students. Qualified candidates must possess a DMD/DDS or equivalent, an Orthodontic
certificate, MS, or PhD in the area of Orthodontics. Priority will be given to applicants who have
experience in research administration, a track record of funding, state-of-the-art 3D imaging research and
translational device development, and who are recognized for contributions in orthodontically relevant
research. Experience in supervising research of pre-doctoral dental students, post-doctoral residents, and
post-graduate doctoral candidates is highly desirable.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. This search will begin immediately and

Orthodontic Residency – Program Director

UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA AT BIRMINGHAM

The Department of Orthodontics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham invites applications
for a program director for a part-time regular, non-tenure earning clinical track faculty position.
Responsibilities include teaching pre- and post-doctoral students and serving as program director for a
33-month orthodontic residency program that accepts four residents each year and places emphasis on
the training of future academicians. Qualified applicants must possess a DMD/DDS or equivalent, be
board certified (or board eligible) by the American Board of Orthodontics, and be licensed or eligible
for licensure by the Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama. Successful candidates will be expected to
demonstrate a strong background in program administration and teaching.

Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience. The search will begin immediately and
